What Verbenix records, and what it does not
There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to: Verbenix sets no cookies, loads no third-party scripts, and holds nothing that identifies a person. It does count how many people use it and whether sessions get finished, because a trainer nobody completes is not working. This page lists every field that is stored, and the list is checked against the database schema rather than written from memory.
1Who is responsible
Verbenix is operated by the site operator, who decides what is collected and why. Questions, or anything you think this page gets wrong: privacy@verbenix.com.
2What is stored, and why
A random visitor id
A UUID generated in your browser and kept in localStorage
To tell a returning browser from a new one, so "120 visitors" does not mean the same person 120 times. It is not derived from anything about you or your device, and we cannot reverse it into a person.
Visits
Start and end time, engaged time, number of pages, the page you entered on and the last page you saw, the site that referred you, any utm_ tags in the address
To know how many people arrive, where from, and whether they stay.
Page views
Path only, a timestamp, and how long the page was open
To know which pages are read. The query string is never recorded, because it can carry search terms.
Sessions
Start and end time, planned and actual length, whether it reached the end bell, and the settings used — source, path, speed, room size, reverberation, level, view, markers, breath pace
To answer the only question that matters for the product: do people finish, and which settings do the finished ones use.
Feedback you choose to send
The mood you tap, anything you type, and which page you sent it from
Because a trainer nobody finds settling is not working, and we would rather know.
Coarse technical context
Country, device class (mobile, tablet or desktop), browser and operating system family
To know whether the app works on what people actually use. Country comes from the edge network; we never see or store the address it was derived from.
None of these fields, alone or together, identifies you. There is no name, address, account or device fingerprint anywhere in the system.
3What is never stored
- Your IP address. It is hashed together with your user-agent in memory to rate-limit the endpoint, then discarded. It is never written to the database and never logged.
- Cookies. None at all, first or third party. That is why there is no consent banner to dismiss.
- Any account. There is no sign-up, no email, no name, no password.
- Anything sold or shared. No advertising network, no analytics vendor, no data broker. The data goes to our own database and nowhere else.
- Precise location. Country only. Never a city, coordinates, or anything derived from GPS.
- Audio. Nothing is recorded. The microphone is never requested. All sound is generated in your browser.
4How long it is kept
Raw, per-device rows — visits, page views and sessions — are deleted after twelve months by a job that runs every night. Daily totals are kept indefinitely, because a day’s aggregate says nothing about any individual.
Written feedback is kept but unlinked at twelve months: the mood and the words survive, the association with a visitor id and a session is erased. The words stay useful for years; the link does not.
5Where it lives, and who else can see it
The database is hosted by Supabase in Paris, France (eu-west-3). The site itself is served by our hosting provider. Those two companies process data on our instructions and for no purpose of their own.
There are no other processors. No analytics service, no advertising network, no tag manager, no embedded fonts or scripts from anyone else’s domain.
Reading any of it requires an account that has been explicitly granted access. Writing is impossible from a browser: every measurement goes through our own server, which is also where suspected bot traffic is flagged.
6Your choices
- Stop being counted
- Add ?dnt=1 to any Verbenix address. That browser is excluded permanently; ?dnt=0 reverses it.
- Erase what is held
- Clear site data for this domain. The visitor id goes with it and nothing further can be linked to you. We cannot do this for you, because we have no way to find you.
- Block it entirely
- Any setting or extension that blocks /api/track works. The app is built so that analytics failing changes nothing about how it runs.
If you are in the UK or EU you also have rights of access, correction, erasure, objection and portability, and a right to complain to your data protection authority. In practice the first three are already satisfied by clearing site data, because we hold nothing that can be traced back to you — which also means we cannot look up your records on request, and cannot confirm which rows were yours.
7Children
Verbenix is not directed at children. It sets a hearing-safety ceiling for everyone, and the WHO reference for under-18s is lower than for adults — 75 dB(A) a week rather than 80. Nothing here is designed for a child to use unsupervised.
8Changes
The date at the top of this page changes whenever this notice does. If what is collected ever changes materially, this page changes in the same commit as the code — that is the only way it stays true.
Verbenix is an attention exercise, not a medical product. What the research does and does not support.
